Mandala Buddy Acenas
Mandala Buddy began studying Pekiti Tirsia Kali under Tuhon Rommel Tortal in 2002, as a member of the pioneering Manila PTK group. He has trained continuously since then, having had the opportunity to train under almost all of the system's top instructors, namely Tuhon Leslie Buck, Tuhon Nonoy Garrucho, Tuhon Philip Gelinas, Tuhon Rommel Tortal, Tuhon Uli Weidle, Tuhon Jared Wihongi and the late Tuhon Jasper De Ocampo.
Mandala Buddy has also participated in numerous PTK events and documentaries since then, such as the BBC's "Mind, Body and Kick-Ass Moves" and "Fight Quest". He has also assisted in training military and police units of the Philippines and other countries.
During the founding of the Pekiti Tirsia Kali Asia Pacific Confederation in 2010, Mandala Buddy was designated by Tuhon Rommel Tortal as a Vice President of the organization. He has led PTK Manila's delegation to every one of the organization's annual conventions since the first event in 2011.
In 2007, he was designated by Tuhon Tortal as the Chief Instructor of the Pekiti Tirsia Manila club. Mandala Buddy traveled to Istanbul in 2011 to conduct a seminar, becoming the first Filipino to teach Filipino Martial Arts in Turkey. His visit also coincided with the founding of the Pekiti Tirsia Kali group in Turkey, having personally trained the country's official representative, Guro Firat Erdem.
Mandala Buddy conducted a seminar at Riga, Latvia in February
2014, making history again as the first Filipino to demonstrate
Filipino Martial Arts in that country.
Mandala Buddy left the Pekiti Tirsia Kali organization in 2016 and reorganized Pekiti Tirsia Kali Manila into Kali Manila.
